Portraits of Duke Ellington Audiophile edition
Joe Pass
“Portraits Of Duke Ellington” by Joe Pass was produced by Norman Granz and first released in 1975 on his label Pablo Records. The legendary jazz guitarist's tribute to Duke Ellington was recorded just one month after Ellington's death and immediately reached number 37 in the jazz album charts. Together with bassist Ray Brown and drummer Bobby Durham, Pass jams to eight Ellington pieces and “Caravan”, written by Juan Tizol, one of Duke's most important sidemen.
