Gorillaz | The Mountain
Gorillaz return with The Mountain, their ninth studio album, arriving on 20 March 2026 via their own label, KONG. Produced by Gorillaz alongside James Ford, Samuel Egglenton and Remi Kabaka Jr., with additional work by Bizarrap, the record expands the band’s sonic horizons through global collaborations and multilingual storytelling.
The Mountain was recorded in various locations around the World — from London’s Studio 13 and Devon, to Mumbai, New Delhi, Rajasthan and Varanasi in India, as well as Ashgabat, Damascus, Los Angeles, Miami and New York - and features performances in five languages: English, Arabic, Hindi, Spanish and Yoruba.
Like most Gorillaz outings, The Mountain is packed with incredible contributors bringing the album together. Across the 15-tracks you'll hear contributions from Idles; Kara Jackson; Yasiin Bey; Johnny Marr; Black Thought; Anoushka Shankar; Omar Souleyman. There are also posthumous apperances from legends Bobby Womack, Dave “Trugoy the Dove” Jolicoeur, Dennis Hopper, Mark E. Smith, Proof, and Tony Allen.
Visually, Jamie Hewlett’s artwork captures the four animated band members as nomadic figures in India, reflecting the stylistic shift where Albarn's love of other cultures and genres outside are more apparent in Gorillaz' sound than ever before.
iMusic is the only official Danish retailer that offers the deluxe edition on orange bio vinyl with lenticular cover.
