Motörhead | The Manticore Tapes

Unearthed after nearly five decades, The Manticore Tapes offers an electrifying glimpse into Motörhead's formative years. Recorded in August 1976 at Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s Manticore Studios in Fulham, this session captures the raw synergy of the band's earliest lineup as a trio: Lemmy Kilmister, "Fast" Eddie Clarke, and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor.

While at the studio, they recorded together for the very first time. And 49 years later these recordings, long thought lost, now see the light of day, showcasing the trio's unfiltered energy as they laid the groundwork for their legendary loud sound.

This deluxe bookpack edition includes 2LPs and a 7" vinyl. The bonus LP included contains the classic "Live: Blitzkrieg on Birmingham '77" while the bonus 7" features two previously unreleased tracks live at Barbarellas Birmingham in 1977. The packages includes a 24-page booklet detailing the story of The Manticore Tapes through previously unpublished and new interviews with the people that were there at the time + features liner notes from long-time collaborator Kris Needs.
