As leadership concepts emerged in this qualitativestudy it became apparent that the students'leadership understandings were part content, partprocess, and part articulation. One of the keyfindings to emerge was the important role languageand framing played in the students' sensemaking andarticulation of their leadership understandings. Remarkably, the author came into this research prepared to make explicit the students' denotative leadership understandings, but came away from the study with a clearer understanding of language and framing, leadership throw, and the powerful argument this makes for nurturing student voice at all levels.
