For those who lived through it, the experience was one of fascination, blessed friendships and conflicting values. Looking back offers the opportunity to relive, cherish and understand a unique era. The pillars of society, both the good and the bad, lived under the 1950's should not be forgotten. We may then preserve and reintroduce the good, while avoiding a repeat of the bad. Upon retiring from a career in both the public and private sectors, Rodger Potocki turned to writing about his home area from a historical and personal perspective.
