Kai Kago

Kai is a teenage girl who lives with her Uncle Rick in Boston, where only a few people know about her incredible powers. Kai knows nothing about her family history or even how she developed these abilities, which leaves her to continually question herself and her past. Whenever she asks Rick about it, he either tells her to keep quiet or he manages to brush her off and change the subject. One day, when she comes to learn the truth about Rick and a family she didn't know she had, as well as Rick's own hidden powers, she storms off. Briefly she meets her Uncle Sean, Aunt Chrissy, and later on, Ken her grandfather. Ken convinces her to go to New York in order to learn more about her mysterious background and parents. She feels she has no choice but to go with him. In New York, Kai learns that her family owns an underground organization called The Lotus that experiments on people to see if they are able to develop supernatural powers or abilities. Kai also learns more about her individual family members and her parents who she learns died in an accident. Once Kai learns the dark truth of The Lotus, she becomes determined to end it. With the help of her new friend Ashton, the two devise a plan to end the organization once and for all and then escape. But can they succeed before Sean, Chrissy, or Ken can find them?
