Freezer Burn

Longtime surfer and free-spirit Lucas Trout is summoned from Hawaii to clean up a family mess in California. His uncle, Maury Trout, had fallen from the sky, landing atop his wife of two weeks, the beguiling Janice Shortbread. Lucas agrees reluctantly to fill in as a short-term manager of Best Friends Inc., Maury's innovative frozen pet storage colony, but while peeling back the murky layers of the failing business, Lucas finds he is in a street fight with the widow's greedy family, sensation-seeking journalists, a big-money celeb theologian, and a conniving landlord. And just when an exceptional frozen animal's otherworldly musical skills appear ready to save the company's bottom line, criminals strike, calling for an all-out rescue mission.
