Treasured Gilt-edged Memories

What a treasure we have each and every day. We do no remember every day, at time goes by, but we have a way of remembering moments. And we really never know the value of a moment, until IT becomes a memory. Memories can span miles of years past, and in an instant, we are back there. Many things are forgotten over time. Often we are caught up in our everyday work world so that events of the past are no longer in orbit around our minds. But still, no matter how much time passes, no what it takes place in the interim, there are some things we never assign to oblivion. There are certain memories we never delete. These special good memories remain with us like precious touchstones within our life story. To be sure, memory is like a diary we carry mentally within us. It is a way of holding onto the things we so cherish. For you see, memories are more precious than jewels; they do no lose their value and are always available upon retrieval. Someone has said, "God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December". Every person's memory is their literature and it is a way of reminding us of what is important in life. You know, what we treasure most, tells most about us. For you see, we really never know the value of a moment, until it becomes a treasured memory. This volume contains many moments of memory of the author along with today's reflection on those memories as applied to the currency of our times.
