The Gate

After his house has been attacked by a terrifying monster, Matthew Graves learns that the world isn't what it seems. He discovers that Gods and deamons exist, and that he is in terrible danger. He is taken by his mother to a safe haven from the deamons that chase him. But once there, he learns he has a destiny, given to him by a higher power. Higher even than the gods themselves.
