The Hymns of Prudentius

Aurelius Prudentius Clemens was a Roman Christian poet, born in the Roman province of Tarraconensis. Prudentius was a lawyer and twice was provincial governor. Late in life he became an ascetic fasting and collecting Christian poems of the period. His hymns "Of the Father's Love Begottenö and "Earth Has Many a Noble City" are still in use today. Prudentius also wrote Book in Accordance with the Hours, Crowns of Martyrdom, Deification, The Origin of Sin, Battle of Souls, Books Against Symmachus, and The Double Testament.
