In time, Jacob found himself attempting to survive the winter encampment of the Colonial Army at Valley Forge. During this encampment, he is on a foraging expedition, when he is injured and left to survive on the merciful treatment of an old widow woman. Eventually he met a young lad by the name of William, who possesses a secret, which in time alters the destiny of Jacob's life. In the end, Jacob settles in the Northern Providence of Mexico which is now THE STATE OF TEXAS.
