Mass Deception: Moral Panic and the U.S. War on Iraq - Critical Issues in Crime and Society
Scott A. Bonn
Examines why the war on Iraq gained such widespread support in the US during its early stages, despite their being no apparent link between Iraq and 9/11. Using a unique, integrated, and interdisciplinary theory called 'critical communication', this argues that the Bush administration manufactured public support for the war on Iraq, effectively creating a public panic that benefitted both the administration and the news media.
