Hooked On Hunting
Don Millar
"Tonight I heard the wild goose cry,
Wingin' north in the lonely sky.
Tried to sleep, it weren't no use,
'Cause I am a brother to the old wild goose"
When I first read Don Millar's "Hooked on Hunting," I was reminded of the avid hunter antagonist, "General Zaroff" in Richard Connel's famous short story, "The Most Dangerous Game." While Mr. Millar obviously does not take his passion for hunting to the same murderous extreme as does General Zaroff, - of hunting even people for sport,
- Mr. Millar could, I suspect, empathize with the General's feelings about hunting in general when Zaroff says to fellow hunting expert, Sangor Rainsford.
